Filed Under: Hey Verb: The 1950's called; they want their prices back.
Overview: Six salon-quality hair products offered at barber shop prices. Shampoo, conditioner, styling cream, sculpting clay, forming fiber, and finishing polish are all $12 each, and are unisex to boot, so you save even more because you and your little lady can share
Appreciate: The effort by co-founders Jayson Rapaport and Michael Portman to achieve professional-grade hair care at an affordable price. Verb was born from their wildly successful Birds Barbershop--in its own right, a remarkable story of re-styling the way we think of salons--after they observed that Birds' customers were hesitant to pay for the fancy salon products on their shelves. Rapaport and Portman asked a question that countless others have raised, but no one to this point has attempted to answer: why do salon products have to be so expensive? Their answer: they don't, and they took action to prove it. Action, as in, Verb. There's a reason these products aren't called Theory
Know: This really is quality product. Made without harming fluffy animals, and without yucky parabins and sulfates, Verb products are water-based and enriched with vitamins, natural UV protectants, other nutrients, and cool ingredients like sunflower extract. Scent is very subtle, and if you happen to color your hair (or more likely, your little lady does), you can feel safe that the products are color-safe
Special Comments: The entire Verb product line is now available for purchase online at Ulta.com, and of course you can pick some up in person if you're in Austin and visit a Birds, which we recommend: there you can play asteroids and drink a free Shiner beer with your haircut. Keep your eye out for even more than the 6 Verb products available now; six new products are reportedly in the pipeline, and every one will again be priced at $12
Cost: $12 each
